William Thorpe was an obscure 15th century magician, who collaborated with Col Tom Blue to write The Mirrour of the Lyf of Ralph Stokesie, a biography of Ralph Stokesey, one of the greatest Aureate magicians. Although Stokesey himself was a Devonian born it is slightly more likely than not that Thorpe was from Northern England, as his last name is one more commonly found there.
