London

London is the capital of Southern England, and after the departure of John Uskglass is effectively the capital of Northern England also. It is the seat of government and hub of empire, the centre of refined society, the home of commercial enterprise and a considerable port. Its shops are perhaps the most luxurious in Europe. It contains many splendid buildings, which include among them the fashionable homes of England's nobility, the ancient Tower, St. Paul's cathedral, the Houses of Parliament and a royal Palace. It has numerous parks, squares, schools, hospitals, grand thoroughfares and quaint old corners, and the River Thames flows majestically through its heart.

Unfortunately parts of it are wholly unsafe for the respectable portion of society.
